The Flintstones 50th Anniversary

I used to love getting up early in the mornings before school as a kid and hearing the infamous Flintstones theme song. It remains to this day, my favorite cartoon. Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to the Flintstones and Happy Almost Anniversary to Me and My Hubby

The Flintstones is celebrating it's 50th anniversary today. It first aired on September 30, 1960. The Flintstones was the first American animated show to depict two people of the opposite sex (Fred and Wilma; Barney and Betty) sleeping together in one bed. In January 2009, IGN named The Flintstones as the ninth best in its "Top 100 Animated TV Shows."

And in other news...Me and my hubby will be celebrating our anniversary in 10 days! Yay! :)

1950's Vintage Patterns

Some more 50's style inspiration for you. *Isn't it interesting to note that we saw several similar dress patterns featured at the Emmy Awards this year as the first image pictured here? Funny how trends repeat themselves, huh?!?

Fall 2010 Fashion Trends

They say that 1950's is one of the top things to look to for 2010 Fall fashion trends. So, who better to look to than vintage Barbie for fashion tips? I happen to love Barbie and think that she's a great resource to look to when it comes to what's in style in the past/present. I mean, there's definitely always been some serious thought put into dressing Barbie. The girl's got her own set of stylists for Heaven's sake! :)
So, here's some Fall style inspiration for ya ladies...via Barbie!
P.S. The last look happens to be my favorite. Love the handbag!

Cindy Crawford

She's the last on the list of my fashion icons, but certainly not least. In fact, she may just be my favorite. I have loved her since I was a little girl, and shared the title of major fan with my favorite cousin who I dearly looked up to most of my life. (Love ya, Penny!)
Anyway, I think Cindy Crawford is absolutely gorgeous. She has that look of the girl next door, yet you also see a woman with exotic looks staring back at you from those magazine covers she adorns. That is something that I believe can only be achieved by the grace of God and the good genes that he's blessed you with. She is absolutely stunning and beyond photogenic! Yet at the same time, she makes "regular" women feel like they can relate to her and see a bit of themselves in her. Now there is a great way to have yourself be marketable! She definitely has a higher power on her side. :)
And let's not forget her sense of style. Of course, she's had great influences in her life, I'm sure, when it comes to fashion sense. Whatever the case may be, I love her style. She has impeccable taste. She always looks classy to me in anything she puts together. She is a true beauty.
Michael Kors has said this of Cindy Crawford, "Cindy changed the perception of the ‘sexy American girl’ from classic blue eyed blonde to a more sultry brunette with brains, charm, and professionalism to spare."
Amen! I think she's a fashion icon in every sense of the word.

Z Gallerie

Ummm...yes please, one of everything!! I wandered into Z Gallerie in Sacramento's Downtown Plaza yesterday and was enamored by all of the pretty things in there! I could seriously go crazy!! I've listed just a few of my favorite things here. But really, seriously...I truly think I could buy every single thing that's in that store at the moment and be perfectly content with no buyer's remorse whatsoever. Take a look. See what you think. ;-)
